Love activism? Love clothes? Join us for our ‘Clothes Swap for Women’s Rights’ event.
How can you get involved?
1. Click ‘going’ and share this event with your friends
2. Drop off your clothes at 10am at Bankstown Art Centre so our lovely organisers can set up the event
3. Or come around at 11am to begin the swap!
4. Sign a letter to an MP and get your voice heard!
We’re building a local group of activists here in Western Sydney who stand in solidarity with women around the world fighting for justice and equality.
This event is part of our #TransformTradeforWomen campaign. Our government is currently negotiating a free trade agreement, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), which will prioritise corporate rights over women’s rights, disproportionately affecting the lives of women in the Asia-Pacific region.
During the event, we will have letters available for you to sign. These will be posted to our local politicians to encourage them to rethink signing this deal unless its negative impacts for women in our region are addressed.
Here’s to women’s rights, not corporate rights!
